CSE1701 INTRODUCTION TO OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE AND OPEN STANDARDS

 This course deals with open source softwares, licensing, definition of freedom and development processes along with need for standards and especially open standards, their  life cycle, challenges and adaptation processes.

 Course Objective

C1. Provide an overview of Open Source Software Adoption History, Evolution.

2. Provide an overview of  Open Source Standards

After the completion of this course students will be able to-

CO1 Develop open source softwares and follow the open source processes

CO2 Choose among different types of Standards and Licenses for open source.

CO3 Use linux as an operating system, especially with command line.

CO4 Install and configure linux, write init scripts
