Who we are

College Station lies on the eastern end of the Eagle Ford shale formation, a rich reserve of oil and gas. To extract the oil, developers use hydraulic fracturing, a.k.a. fracking. The evidence of the harmful effects of fracking is growing rapidly.

Fracking brings with it harmful air pollution. Fracking brings noise that disrupts the quality of lives. Fracking brings massive numbers of trucks posing hazards to safety, wellbeing, and the quality of our roads. It should come as no surprise therefore, that fracking also leads to a decline in property values.

As College Station Citizens for Safe Fracking, we are dedicated to ensuring that oil and gas in our city is regulated in a way that protects the health and welfare of our community.
