Our Fabulous Speakers
 Cathy Maxwell Felicia Mason

Cathy Maxwell’s enthusiasm for life graces the pages of her books and are the topic of the talks she gives to readers and writers groups about her chosen career.

She is no stranger to the limelight.  After graduating from college, Cathy started off as a news broadcaster.  She later decided reporting was boring compared to making news and joined the navy.   After a successful stint in Naval intelligence, including a tour with the Pentagon, Cathy proceeded to pursue writing.  Now, she has 30 published romance novels (and five anthologies) to her credit, many of them spending significant time on the New York Times and USA Today mass market best-seller lists. It’s clear that Cathy has succeeded in achieving her goals to a rare degree!

This native of Olathe, Kansas now resides in Virginia with children, horses, dogs, and cats. When not writing or tending her beloved animals, she is likely to be busy with one of many local charities or packing her bags to research her next novel.  Cathy’s motto is “travel light” and she enjoys meeting her fans all over the world.

Felicia Mason is a motivational speaker, award-winning author, nature lover and all-around creative person.

Her 20 novels and novellas have been published by St. Martin’s Press, Harlequin/Steeple Hill/Love Inspired/Kimani Press, Kensington/Dafina Books, and Arabesque/BET Books.

She lives in Virginia where she is a newspaper editor by day, a fiction writer, quilter and artist at night, a master naturalist, and a weekend hiker and wanderer.

Taking Pitches
Dominique Eastwick Michelle JohnsonValerie Mann
Award Winning Author, Dominique Eastwick grew up a US Navy Brat, so if there was a Naval base that was probably home. She currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, two children, crazy lab and lazy cat.

Dominique's love of reading started when she was told to read TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD in high school. A book that opened her eyes to the joys of reading and entering into the world of the author. To this day she ranks this book as her favorite.
After a life long obsession with books, a career in business management/ownership including bookstores and community writing centers, and a few years with small presses in an editorial capacity, Michelle Johnson is now in her fourth year as a literary agent, where she represents many NYT Bestsellers, debut authors, and indie authors alike.

The face of publishing is ever-changing, and bending and shifting with the times and staying ahead of the curve are key for Michelle and her agency, Inklings Literary Agency.

Michelle looks for Contemporary, Suspense, Thriller, Misery, Romance, Horror, Fantasy, and light Sci-Fi.  She loves books that are like watching a train wreck you can't look away from, Characters that leave you feeling like you just lost a friend because the books is over, and plots that she can't predict at every turn.  She especially loves books that make her think about something in a new way, but without preaching.  Michelle also loves to laugh and loves dark, smart humor.

Valerie Mann is the superwoman every woman tries to be...mother of five attractive, successful children, a vixen in and out of the bedroom, runway model fashionista, extreme gardener, and just recently crashed onto bestseller lists as a romance author.

In real life, she is the mother of five lovely, but ordinary children. Sure, she's a vixen in and out of the bedroom, which explains the herd of kids. The closest she gets to a runway is an airport, and while she thinks gardens of all sorts are wonderful, she figures that hobby can wait until retirement, if her knees last that long. And that crashing you heard was Valerie collapsing on the couch at the end of a very long day. As for romance, she writes and likes to think she can tell an amazing tale of love or two. Her husband of nearly thirty years won't read her stories because they make him blush, but is content in the knowledge he's the inspiration for every one of them.

Valerie is the co-owner of a Decadent Publishing, as well as Wizards in Publishing, a company that provides editing and formatting services for authors.
