Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was founded in 1943 by the US Catholic Conference of Bishops.  At the invitation of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM), CRS commenced its operations in Malawi in 1997, and is the lead in a consortium of seven NGOs implementing the USAID funded WALA program. CRS has its principal offices in Lilongwe and a office in Blantyre set up to manage the WALA program - the Consortium Administration & Technical Capacity Hub (CATCH). CRS/Malawi main areas of focus include Food Security, Health and Nutrition, HIV/AIDS, and Justice and Peace Building.
