Are Roman Catholics Saved?

No one can judge a Roman Catholic's heart, but God. However, if the Roman Catholic follows the official position of the Roman Catholic Church which teaches that justification is by works, then such a person is lost.




1992 Justification has been merited for us by the Passion of Christ who offered himself on the cross as a living victim, holy and pleasing to God, and whose blood has become the instrument of atonement for the sins of all men. Justification is conferred in Baptism, the sacrament of faith. It conforms us to the righteousness of God, who makes us inwardly just by the power of his mercy. The Bible teaches that justification is by faith alone.

But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.(Romans. 4:5)

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Eph. 2:8-9).
