Good ole hill repeats. As the name alludes, it's repeating hills. Harlem Hill (or is it called the Great Hill?) lives on the northern end of Central Park. This is where I train in the mornings. I'm basically repeating the loop of this hill six times. First time, I do it at a normal gear. The next five times, I do it 2 gears harder than the 1st time. I believe this is supposed to build me strength for the Rockies.
I've been doing this at least once a week for a few months now. My fellow SIGgies definitely noticed how I am able to race up the hills during our Saturday rides. One SIGgy asked if I was taking steroids. Another commented on how mid-week training definitely helps out for the longer weekend group rides.
If anyone is interested in doing hill repeats, make sure you follow up the next day with Intervals. Intervals is when you ride for 2 minutes on a harder gear, then 1 minute on your normal gear, repeat for a total of 6 times.
I've been doing my morning training with fellow SIGgy and friend, Andrea. Here we are at the end of the Montauk Century.
