Colorful Felt flower pins
It was a dreary day when I had to go to an appointment.I had on a black top that I wanted to brighten up....these flower pins are what I came up with.I hope to make a few more since I have sooo many buttons that I'd love to use. They are made from 2 different types of felt. The biggest flower is made from a stiffened felt that was bought already cut into a flower shape. The tiedyed flower on top and the green leaves underneath are regular felt that I diecut.I blanket stitched the stiffened felt and whip stitched the tiedyed felt flowers. Each one took about 30 minutes to make.
Cool flower store on the SW Broadway side of Portland, Oregon
On the Starbucks corner. (Just wait, there will be a second corner of that block with a Starbucks soon, making a liar out of me.) The store has an excellent variety of beautiful flowers, and inexpensive but pretty vases available as well. It's where I learned a tip for cutting roses (or any type of long-stem flowers): cut at an angle so that the flowers can get the most water.
