Ok folks, I hate to bombard you with back to back postings but didn't want to wait to get this out. Many of you remember me posting awhile back and even going to the local media about the Felony Lane Gang, a nationwide group of vehicle burglars that seem to target women who leave their purses in their vehicles. Well they are back and out in full force. I was just caught in the hallway by one of our detectives that has been working with the FBI on these guys and he told me about it so I wanted to pass along the info.

In case you haven't heard about this group, they are an organized crime ring out of Florida who rent cars, go to different cities across the nation, and commit thefts from vehicles. We have caught some of them, as have other agencies, but they just keep coming back. We will continue to work hard identifying and arresting these perpetrators but WE NEED YOUR HELP!

These guys seem to focus on areas such as daycares, dog parks, gyms, etc...areas where ladies will commonly leave their purse in the car for a short period of time and then strike. Many times they sit in the parking lots at these locations and watch women get out of the car. If they see she isn't carrying a purse, they drive up after you leave the car, break in and steal the purse.

Now you ask how can you help? First and foremost, NEVER leave your purse unattended (even for a short time) in your vehicle. Don't think you can outsmart them by putting it under the seat or in the trunk. As I said, many times they are watching and waiting. Next, report suspicious persons...especially in these type locations. If the opportunity isn't there for these guys, they will leave. We remove our purses when we exit our vehicle, you remove their opportunity.

These guys will continue to stay, and come back again as long as we make it profitable for them. Start a new habit today ladies, ALWAYS take your purse with you when you leave your car unattended...no matter for how long.

这些人看来是把主要注意力集中到托儿所，狗公园，健身房等地区，女士们往往把手包短时间留在车里，他们就袭击。他们经常坐在这些地方的停车场看女士们从车里出来。如果他们看到她没有背着包，他们就在她离开后开近她的车，把车打开并偷走她的手包。

现在你会问你如何帮忙。首先，也是最重要的，绝对不要把包留在车里，哪怕是很短的时间。别自作聪明把包放在车座下面或后备箱里。就像我刚才说的，他们经常是看着你，等着下手呢。第二，特别注意这些地区，如发现可疑的人，马上报警。如果不给这些人任何机会，他们就会离开。我们在离开车时把包拿走，就把他们犯罪的机会“拿”走了。如果我们给他们“创收”的机会，这些人会继续呆在不是那里，并再回来。女士们，从今天起开始养成好习惯，无论你离开车多长时间，哪怕很短很短，总是随身携带你的包包。
