About Us

Venturing is the outdoor adventure program of the Boy Scouts of America for young adults, men and women, from the age of 14 or completed eighth grade to 21.  Its purpose is to provide positive outdoor experiences to help young men and women mature and to prepare them to become responsible adults.

Crew 6194 is chartered by St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flemington, New Jersey.  Membership is open to all young men and women from age 14 (or completed 8th grade) to 21 who are interested in outdoor adventure activities, teambuilding and leadership.  We meet monthly during the school year on a Sunday  at 7:00 pm at St. Paul Church.  Our monthly activities include day trips and overnight weekend trips during the school year and an extended outdoor expedition each summer.

  • Cycling and camping in tidewater Virginia and the C&O Canal
    in Maryland & Washington, DC
  • Kayaking on Barnegat Bay and the Delaware River
  • Whitewater kayaking classes - Little Lehigh Creek, PA
  • Backpacking on the Appalachian Trail (NJ, NY & PA)
  • Sailing & Snorkeling at the Florida Sea Base
  • Caving at Laurel caverns in Pennsylvania
  • Skiing and snowboarding in Vermont and Maine
  • Indoor climbing gyms in New Jersey and Pennsylvania
  • Rock Climbing in New Jesey and Pennsylvania
  • Hiking and backpacking throughout New Jesey, New York and Pennsylvania
  • Backpacking at the Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico
  • Canoeing on the Delaware River 
  • Whitewater Rafting, Caving, Kayaking, and Mountain Biking in West Virginia
  • Canoeing in Algonquin National Park, Canada
  • Climb Mt. Shasta in California
  • Canoeing the Shenandoah River in Pennsylvania
