Summer Reading 2011 Event 2

The second event of the Summer Reading program was "Talking Drums: Music of Africa.'  Audience members learned about African drumming from host Kobla Dente, and even got to make some music of their own.

The Joys of Hiking

Members of the Adirondack Mountain club gave a presentation on the Joys of Hiking, which included informatoin ranging from local trails to necessary gear.
 

Poetry Night

 
Poets Fred Stern and Marianne Poloskey shared some of their poems at our Poetry Night.  Several audience members also read their work.  There will be more poetry nights to come!
 
 

Cresskill Earthfest 2011

 
The library was pleased to participate in Cresskill's Earthfest, and the local girl scouts lent a hand to clean up the grounds.  In continuation of the spirt of the event, displayed some of the latest "going green" materials.  Check out our selection of some of the newest and most popular resources for all of your environmental needs.
 

2011 USCIS Citizenship/Naturalization Program

 
For the second year in a row, the library hosted members of the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and IImmigration Services) for an information session on citizenship and naturalization.  If you're interested in attending the program next year, or would like some of the materials that were distributed at the event, contact the library.
 
 

Autism Awareness

 
The library received four autism tool kits provided through a grant from the Karma Foundation, which partnered with the organization Autism Speaks.  Stop by the library to view all our resources on Autism and Asperbergs.
