Welcome to the Team!

Oh, come in! You must be my new reporter. I’m Mr. Simmel – the editor. I hear you have a background in multicultural competence. That will come in handy on your first assignment in the field. There was a report of a robbery, and it’s in a neighborhood that is already experiencing some pretty serious racial tension. I need you to go down there and investigate and bring me a good story.

Before you go, it would be wise to talk to our witness expert, Scott Fraser. He can give you some good insight into talking to witnesses that have experienced something this traumatic. I want to get this story right, and I’m counting on you to show me what you’ve got in the field.

When you’re done with Fraser, check out the city's stats and then make your way down to the scene. Don’t blow it…I don’t want to have to hire a new reporter already. Remember, we have a deadline. I'll text you some pointers along the way, but I expect to see you back here with a draft ASAP! Take some good notes but when you get back to the office you'll be able to review the files if you need to.

Now, go see Fraser!
