Our next All Hands Workday scheduled for Saturday June 23 from 9-11. Until then, please remember to

  • harvest your crops – if you don’t want them please donate them but don’t let them become over-ripe.  That is very, very attractive to critters and seems to encourage them to visit more regularly – not good!  In fact it is best to pick tomatoes a bit before they reach full redness and let them finish at home on the counter.
  • weed or weed trim one foot around your beds.  We are trying to eliminate the need to have someone use the weed whacker around all the beds.  This saves on labor and also the danger that we might damage your vines etc. that sometimes come over the edges of the beds.
  • pick and use your donated veggies on Saturday for our luncheon for the Ortiz-Crispin family in our church on Sunday.  They lost everything in Hurricane Maria when it hit Puerto Rico and are currently living with relatives in Canton. Please come to the luncheon on Sunday June 24 at 12:30 – we are asking for donations and thought it would nice to use some of our bounty to encourage donations too.  We will display our garden vegetables and ask attends to make a donation to “purchase” them.
