Golf

FOOTBALL GOLF has been devised to promote 9 very important attributes (also called fruits of the spirit) and its parent initiative (STOP ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS) and is based upon the following concept:
  • Take 9 self standing long handled dust pans and place say 1 metre apart along a wall (usually indoors but could also be outdoors). Print the 9 flag download below, cut out flags and attach a paper/card flag to the top of each dust pan handle in a consecutive 1-9 order (the self standing long handled dust pans then become your 9 golf holes).
  • Say 10 metres parallel to the wall, space out 9 chairs each 1 metre apart. Print the 9 flag download below, cut out flags and attach a paper/card flag to each chair in same 1-9 order as the dust pan holes (the space in between chairs become the tee offs for the 9 dust pan holes).
  • Give each competitor one golf sized ball (plastic practice variety) and tell them that the tee off for each hole is between the chairs and that they have one kick per hole to get their ball into each dust pan hole. Also tell them they need to retrieve their ball after each kick before moving onto the next hole. Also tell each competitor to count the number of successful kicks (if any) that they manage to kick their ball into a dust pan hole (this allows you if required to declare the competitor with the highest number of successful hole in one kicks as the winner/s).
We invite schools, churches, youth groups etc. to uptake FOOTBALL GOLF that has been devised to promote 9 very important attributes (also called fruits of the spirit) and its parent initiative (STOP ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS).

FOOTBALL GOLF RULES:
  1. Each competitor has one golf ball (plastic practice type) and one kick per hole to attempt achieving a hole in one for each of 9 dust pan holes (name relates to 9 long handled dust pans used to create 9 holes).
  2. The tee off for each hole is on the ground beside the corresponding chair placed at say 10 meters from the corresponding hole (if necessary the organiser can adjust the distance).
  3. At each tee off each competitor is allowed to kick their golf ball once towards the corresponding dust pan hole.
  4. Each competitor is responsible for retrieving their ball before moving onto the next hole tee off.
  5. Each competitor keeps a tally of holes in one (if any). A hole in one occurs when a ball either enters or touches the entrance of the dust pan hole.
  6. The winner/s is the competitor who scores the greatest number of holes in one (after 9 kicks towards 9 holes).
