craigslist raleigh - Funkuponya
Funkuponya, a quartet based out of Raleigh, North Carolina was formed by a chance meeting off Craigslist in the spring of 2008. Featuring Doug Carter on guitar, Brian Werner on keys, Leo Kishore on bass, and Carl Blackwell on drums, the band strives to create ear catching melodies mixed with heated improvised jams, resulting in a rhythmic experience that keeps the body moving. Polished guitar mingles with stratospheric keyboards to keep the audience on their toes. All the while, the no-nonsense rhythm section keeps the music honest and forward-moving. These are the new guys on the Southeast funk and jam scene.

In September 2012 I purchased a 1993 Raliegh M40 mountain bike for $40 off Craigslist. Your basic entry-level "name brand" MTB of the nineties: cro-mo/hi-ten frame, no suspension, Shimano drivetrain (Altus C20 with Tourney crankset), Araya rims. I decided to build it as a "winter rider"/hackaround-town with the ability to do some dirt/gravel riding/touring. -Street tires: Rubena V99 Cityhopper 26" x 2.0" (in brown!) -Swept back bars: Civia Dupont -Rear rack: Jandd Expedition (from the LHT) -New shifters to replace worn out Rapidfires -Fenders: Planet Bike Hardcore Leaving the drivetrain as-is for now until it wears out. It's done great as a fun, round-town bike. Don't feel the bumps!
This is the road-bike (a Raleigh Record) that I got through Craigslist in January, 2009, for $40. I gave it new tires, cleaned it up like what, and re-wrapped the handlebars. Very happy with it. About to get it a new chain as the one it has is pretty gummed up.
