Students and Staff at Craftsbury Schools have access to thousands of free audiobooks and eBooks (digital books) through our Green Mountain Library Consortium membership.

What you need: 
  • Your Patron Code (see the School Librarian)
  • A device for playing the books.  The  library has a kindle, nooks, and MP3 players to loan, or you can use a personal device. 
          Audiobooks require an MP3 player, WMA player, iPod, etc.

            eBooks require an eReader, such as iPad, nook, kobo, kindle or laptop.

  • Download Overdrive Media Player Software to your device.  Get it from www.listenupvermont.org, or from the App Store.  (It's free, safe and fast.)

Project Gutenburg 
offers over 36,000 free ebooks to download to your PC or portable device. Choose between ePub, Kindle, HTML and simple text formats.  Their ebooks are available for free because their United Stated copyrights have expired.  Look here for classics such as Fairy Tales, works of Shakespeare, Twain, Joyce, Dickens, Austen, the Brontes, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. 



International Children's Digital Library The ICDL Foundation's goal is to build a collection of books that represents outstanding historical and contemporary books from throughout the world.  Ultimately, the Foundation aspires to have every culture and language represented so that every child can know and appreciate the riches of children's literature from the world community.
