New paintings by local artists David Hobbs and Jill Hobbs. Their exhibition last year was a sellout success. This year we have mountain views across Wales and beyond.
David paints mainly in acrylics, his landscapes range from detailed literal representations to quite abstract impressions. In addition to his painting David is a keen jazz musician playing regularly in local venues.
Jill gained a BA Fine Art from Newport, University of Wales. She specialises in landscape paintings, predominately in the medium of pastels. She also runs a weekly art group in Pontypool.
We welcome Joe Weston to the gallery, local landscape artist. He is self-taught, paints using acrylics - favouring their quick drying, which gives room to experiment with many different tcehniques. Joe's paintings for this exhibition focus on the iconic mountains surrounding Abergavenny - the Skirrid, Blorenge and Sugarloaf.
Annie Kemp, talented glass artist has created stunning glass fusion platters and plates for our summer exhibition.
Last but not least wonderful quirky ceramics by Willie Carter, a delightful Scotsman who lives just over the border from Wrexham. He makes superb plates, bowls, and other domesticware but for this exhibition we have chosen some of his animalia - foxes, hares, sheep, runner ducks and chickens
We exhibit and sell an exciting and tempting mix of
contemporary art and crafts.
