Health Initiative


Thanks to a generous grant from Triangle North Healthcare Foundation, Community Partners of Hope is able to offer much needed healthcare services to our homeless men!

Monies will support CPOH Health Interventions, providing primary healthcare screening and treatment for homeless me through the emergency shelter and transitional house.  

Treatment will focus on hypertension, high cholesterol, substance abuse, prostate, and diabetes

Goals: 1) reduce morbidity among this special population in these key areas  

            2) improve health of men, increasing their chances of maintaining gainful employment and re-entering permanent housing

  • Chief Marcus Barrow, Henderson Police Department & Mr. Brian Short, Henderson/Vance Emergency Services – providing I.D. for men who need it

  • Dr. James Kenney, Beckford Medical Center  -- primary health care

  • Mrs. Jeanne Harrison, Alliance Rehabilitative Care – Substance abuse screening, referral, treatment (outpatient)

  • Lisa Harrison, Shauna Guthrie, Granville-Vance Health Department – healthy lifestyles training and mentoring, use of medications, diet, etc. to control disease

  • Krystal Harris, Vance County Department of Social Services – working with me to identify other services for which they might qualify, particularly Medicaid eligibility

  • Lori Giang, CEO/Executive Director and Nicole Banahene, Director of Partner Relations, NC MedAssist  -- providing prescription and OTC medications for recommended treatments

  • George Daye, Raemac Transportation  -- providing transportation to appointments

CPOH staff will coordinate the care offered and maintain records to show that CPOH is having a measurable impact on the health of our community.
