ZLIB Installation

Download: zlib-1.2.5.tar.gz
- http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/lib-external/zlib/zlib-1.2.5.tar.gz
Windows
- copy zlib-1.2.5.tar.gz c:\cygwin\software
Open Cygwin
- cd /
- mkdir software
- chmod 777 software
- cd software
- tar -xvzf zlib-1.2.5.tar.gz
- cd zlib-1.2.5
- ./configure
- make

SZIP Installation

Download: szip-2.1.tar.gz

Windows
- copy szip-2.1.tar.gz c:\cygwin\software
Open Cygwin
- cd /software
- tar -xvzf szip-2.1.tar.gz
- cd szip-2.1
- ./configure
- make

HDF5 Installation

Download NDF5 source codes: hdf5-1.8.9.tar.gz
- http://www.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/release/obtain5.html
Pre-request: Check external libraries used by HDF5
- SZIP v2.1
- ZLIB v1.2.5
Windows
- copy hdf5-1.8.9.tar.gz c:\cygwin\software
Open Cygwin
- cd /software
- tar -xvzf hdf5-1.8.9.tar.gz
- cd hdf5-1.8.9
- ./configure
  - it takes about 3 minutes
- make
  - it takes about 10 minutes
- make check
  - it takes about 20 minutes
- make install
  - it takes about 10 minutes with many compiling warning

UDUNITS Installation

Download IDUNITS source code: udunits-2.1.24.tar.gz
- http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/udunits/index.jsp
Windows
- copy udunits-2.1.24.tar.gz c:\cygwin\software
Open Cygwin
- cd /software
- tar -xvzf udunits-2.1.24.tar.gz
- cd udunits-2.1.24
- ./configure
  - it takes about 1 minute
- make
  - it takes about 1 minute

- export CPPFLAGS=-I$APA/hdf5-1.8.9/hdf5/include
- export LDFLAGS=-L$APA/hdf5-1.8.9/hdf5/lib
- export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$APA/hdf5-1.8.9/hdf5/lib
- CC=gcc FC=gfortran-4 F77=gfortran-4 CPPFLAGS=-DpgiFortran ./configure
  - 試: --enable-netcdf-4
  - it takes about 5 minutes
- make check
  - it takes about 15 minutes
- make install
  - it takes about 1 minutes

NCView Installation

Download NCView: ncview-2.1.1.tar.gz

Pre-request: Check external libraries used by NCView
- NCF-5 v1.8.4 or later
- NetCDF v4.1-beta2 or later
  - must compile it with the --enable-netcdf-4 flag set
- UDUNITS v2
Windows
- copy ncview-2.1.1.tar.gz c:\cygwin\software
Open Cygwin
- cd /software
- tar -xvzf ncview-2.1.1.tar.gz
- cd ncview-2.1.1
- ./configure --with-nc-config=/software/netcdf-4.2/nc-config -with-udunits_incdir=/software/udunits-2.1.24/include -with-udunits_libdir=/software/udunits-2.1.24/lib
- make
install RPM
- Windows
  - download RPM: rpm-3.0.6.tar.gz
    - http://en.sourceforge.jp/projects/sfnet_cygwin-rpm/downloads/rpm/3.0.6/rpm-3.0.6.tar.gz/
  - copy rpm-3.0.6.tar.gz c:\tmp\cygwin-rpm\rpm
- start Cygwin
