Noel was a man among boys in high school last year, blocking everything that got near him. He's far from a finished product, especially offensively, as he only averaged 12 a game as a high school senior, but he will affect games defensively from the outset, maybe even more than Anthony Davis did for the 'Cats last year. Noel is currently attending summer school, and has some eligibility question to iron out, but if he plays for UK next year, they could be Final Four-bound yet again, and Nerlens could be John Calipari's next number one pick. Noel will be somewhere between Josh Smith and Dwight Howard at the NBA level, depending on how his body and his offensive game mature.

Nerlens Noel has filled the stat sheet during Kentucky's slow start (4-3), and he's beginning to receive the national attention he deserves. Noel is a freak athlete with a very high motor. He needs to refine his offensive game, including his free throw shooting, but he has the tools to be a big time player at the next level. I think the Josh Smith comparison looks very accurate. It'll be interesting to see how Noel develops throughout the course of the season. If he can be a better leader than J Smoove, he could be worthy of the number 1 pick in the long run.
