Plumlee has had a lot of hype since he stepped on campus at Duke. He is a fantastic athlete, a good rebounder, and an accomplished defender. Plumlee showed substantial improvement from his freshman to sophomore season, and still has plenty of room to improve. Plumlee appeared to have taken a major step at the beginning of his sophomore season, but he struggled with consistency, completely disappearing in some games. He was much better when Kyrie Irving was healthy, so it'll be interesting to see how he fares without him in '11-'12. Plumlee should be a more athletic version of Louis Amundson at the next level.

Plumlee has yet to really put it together. He has great athleticism and shows real flashes, but his lack of consistency is a major concern. His free throw shooting (up to 52.8% from 44.1% as a sophomore) is another huge question mark. On the plus side, Plumlee has shown solid improvement each season, which if replicated would put him around 15 points and 10 boards per night as a senior. There's room for growth, but Plumlee goes into the season as a fringe first round prospect, with Louis Amundson remaining a fair NBA comparison.
