Thomas is a very impressive physical specimen. He's the type of guy who looks like a professional athlete. He's an explosive leaper with a long wingspan (7'1") and a frame that can handle plenty more bulk. He's got a decent mid-range game, but he's at his best close to the basket. Thomas is great around the rim and decent in the mid-range, but a non-factor from distance. He's a bit of a tweener, so he needs to improve his outside game to play the NBA three or add some strength to play the NBA four. He currently projects to be similar to Shawn Marion at the NBA level.

Thomas injured his ankle in January and missed the rest of the season, only appearing in 19 games. He was efficient shooting the ball but his production early in his freshman year was only mediocre. He's a combo forward with good strength and upside, but he needs to become a focal point offensively to reach elite-prospect status. At this point, Thomas reminds me a little of Derrick Williams.
