About Us

The Country Roads Quilt Guild was formed in 1993 to provide quilters in Southeast Ohio the opportunity to come together so that they might both inspire and learn new quilting techniques from one another.
The Guild offers opportunity to all levels of interested quilters (both hand and machine quilters) to come together for monthly workshop sessions.
The Guild meetings are held the 2nd Monday for each month at 6:00 p.m. at the MacArthur United Methodist Church (200 South Market St.).  Members are welcome to gather at 5:00 p.m. for collaborative work time on personal projects or guild projects, ask questions, get help, share resources, etc.  A workshop program or demonstration follows a brief business meeting.
The Guild actively participates in many community projects such as sponsoring the Wild Turkey Festival Quilt Show, a judged competition held the first weekend in May, making ditty bags and lap robes for veterans, Christmas stockings for the local womens shelter, and decorating a Christmas tree for the library holiday auction.
The Christmas Tree project supports the Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library.  The tree theme in 2010 was birds.  The 2011 theme is "winter." The Guild is sponsoring three quilt retreats at Canter's Cave Camp Ground in Jackson, OH with the Ross County Quilters. One in January, one in May and one in October.  Invited friends, family, neighbors and newcomers are welcome.  Early registration is important to have a working space.
The raffle quilt this year for the raffle at the Wild Turkey Quilt Show is appliqued wreaths.
