Evangelization – Knights in Action

posted Oct 18, 2016, 7:49 AM by Bernard Sheridan
Dave, Tim, and Jamison, three Knights from council 6138, started evangelizing in the park in Greenwood and were surprised at the results. Most people accepted a Miraculous Medal and listened to an explanation, and some were open to more of a conversation about the faith.

We met a nice family from St. Barnabas who have been learning to pray the rosary at home.  Each took a rosary, a medal, and a guide to praying the rosary.

We met a Hindu man who at first was not interested, but when approached a second time we were able to find common ground and he was open to hearing about Christ and his church. He left with a medal and a card so he could contact us.

A fallen away catholic who had not been to mass since she left catholic school shared with us how she had been trying different churches and was not happy with them. She said she would consider coming to mass with us and took some pamphlets about returning to the Church.

Shirley was at first hesitant about the medal because she was more interested in Jesus than Mary, but she was open to discussion about how Mary points us to Jesus. She was so touched that we offered to pray with her, and we all prayed together for her son Alex. She left with some information about Mary and the Catholic faith, and a card to get in contact with us.

Overall the first day out was a success, and we cannot wait to do it again.
