Villa Casa Bonita
Location Nestled in the jungle, and only a few minutes' walk to the sea in the Central Pacific coastal town of Dominical, Villa Casa Bonita is both uniquely beautiful and uniquely situated to offer you the very best of Costa Rica. Unusual for properties in the area, Villa Casa Bonita enjoys both easy access to the villa and to Dominical's spectacular beaches.
The Villa The breath-taking natural beauty and abundant wildlife of Costa Rica are the inspiration for this exotic villa. Bamboo ceilings, natural tones, large picture windows looking out to the jungle and the sea, and a man-made waterfall that is a central focal point of the house, all bring nature indoors. Outdoors, a wide veranda, furnished with rocking chairs, tables, and a couple of hammocks, overlooks the sparkling infinity pool and the ocean - perfect for enjoying beautiful sunsets, leisurely meals, a good book, and the company of family and friends. Pool lounge chairs, beach chairs, and beach towels are all provided.
Bedrooms and bathrooms Casa Bonita is very spacious, with four bedroom suites. The Master Suite and Jungle Suite have king-size beds, and the Ocean Suite has a queen-size bed. On one side, all three suites have private balconies with ocean views; on the other side, all open out to the waterfall grotto. All three suites also have private bathrooms with walk-in showers. The Waterfall Suite has two full-size beds, a half-bathroom across the hall, and a bay window facing the waterfall grotto.
Amenities Casa Bonita offers all the comforts of home, including two washers and two driers, a large-screen TV with satellite programming and DVD player (and a DVD library), and free Wi-Fi internet service. You can cook everything from soup to gourmet meals in the fully-equipped, modern kitchen, or grill some fresh fish on the barbecue. There is a convenient grocery store just a couple of miles down the road, and several larger grocery stores in Uvita, about 15 minutes' drive away.

Our wonderful, bilingual concierge, Romulo, can assist you with travel arrangements, tour and activity recommendations and bookings, dinner reservations, answer any questions you might have during your stay, and anything in between. A Day in the Life at Villa Casa Bonita
With gorgeous beaches only a few minutes' walk away, you can grab a towel and enjoy an early morning dip in the ocean before breakfast. Relax to the sound of the waves over breakfast and a leisurely cup of coffee on the veranda, overlooking the ocean and lush landscaping. Be sure to keep a pair of binoculars handy, in case the monkeys make an appearance, and there's a family of toucans nesting in one of the trees nearby.
Ready for some adventure? How about a whale-watching tour, or exploring nearby world-renowned Manuel Antonio National Park? Or perhaps white-water rafting, scuba diving or snorkeling, zip-lining, horseback riding, or any of the other exciting activities on offer. Of course, Dominical is most famous for it's beaches, so if you're a beach lover, spend the afternoon surfing, swimming, or exploring Playa Dominical. Have fun browsing through the souvenir stalls strung across the beach, then treat yourself to some exotic ice cream.
Ready to relax? While away the rest of the afternoon swinging in a hammock on Villa Casa Bonita's veranda, lulled by the music of the waves and the sounds of the surrounding jungle. Settle in on one of the private balconies and read a good book, or bask in the sun on one of the lounge chairs by the sparkling infinity pool. Lizzie, one of our resident iguanas, likes to sunbathe on the rock waterfall by the pool, and loves fruit if you have any on hand.
When dinner rolls around, take your pick of any of a number of excellent restaurants nearby, or whip something up in the fully-stocked kitchen, and enjoy a leisurely meal out on the veranda. If you don't feel like cooking or going out to a restaurant, we have a great chef who can make pretty much anything you want, from typical Costa Rican food to haute cuisine. Another suggestion: buy some fresh fish early in the morning when the fishing boats come in (for a small fee, the fishermen will filet it for you), and grill it on the outdoor barbecue that evening.
Sit back in one of the rocking chairs on the veranda, drink a glass of wine or beer under a beautiful sunset, and enjoy the company and conversation of friends or family. And when the day winds down and you're lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves, enjoy a good night's rest, so you'll be ready for another day in paradise!
Why Costa Rica?
Rica has long been one of the world's most popular travel destinations,
and it's easy to see why. This small, amazingly beautiful country -
Costa Rica is often called "the jewel of Central America" - has
something for everyone.
Beaches and water sports For
beach-lovers, there are gorgeous, palm-studded beaches where the water
temperature is just right for swimming year-round. For water
sports-enthusiasts, there's world-class surfing, scuba diving,
snorkeling, fishing, and any other kind of water sport. And that's just
at the beaches. On Costa Rica's many rivers, you can enjoy white-water
rafting and kayaking, from beginner to white-knuckle levels.
Nature For nature enthusiasts, Costa Rica is paradise: there
is greater diversity of flora and fauna in this small country than
anywhere else in the world. Costa Rica is justifiably proud of its
history as a global pioneer of nature conservancy and ecotourism, and visitors to the country are beneficiaries of this tradition. Wildlife
and lush flora abound, not only in the many nature reserves, but
families and friends looking for new and exciting activities, there's a
nearly endless variety to choose from. Some possibilities include
whale-watching, surfing, swimming, scuba-diving and snorkeling,
horse-back riding, zip-lining, and white-water rafting, to name but a
few. Check out our Adventure and Nature pages for more suggestions.

of life, and the amazing natural beauty of Costa Rica will relax you in
no time. Grab a hammock, a drink, and a good book, and you'll never want
All of the above, and more! The beauty and diversity of Costa Rica is nowhere better seen than in the small, slow-paced Central Pacific coastal town of Dominical. Dominical epitomizes all the best that Costa Rica has to offer. However, it also has some unique advantages:
All in one place This is one of the very few places in Costa Rica where the mountains cascade to the sea, so visitors can enjoy spectacular beach, mountain, and jungle scenery and activities in the same area.
Small town charm As tourism has grown in Costa Rica, some tourist destinations have become quite crowded. Dominical, however, has kept its small-town, leisurely, uncrowded charm, in part because until recently, access to it was difficult, and few but savvy surfers attempted it. Despite the easy access now possible with the opening of the new coastal highway, the spectacular natural beauty of Dominical and its surroundings remains intact, making it a paradise for all kinds of visitors. In addition, given its small size, Dominical boasts a wealth of excellent restaurants, tours, and activities. There's something for everyone here!
