Abstract:
세계의 인터넷은 이제 일간 신문이나 TV뉴스 혹은 영화 및 노래소재로 등장할 만큼 일상적인 것이 되었다. 지난 십수년 동안 PC통신이나 마이크소프트네트워크를 포함한 수많은 다른 동류의 네트워크를 제치고 무소불위의 위력을 발휘하면서 21세기 정보 혁명의 핵심기반으로 불리우고 있다. 이러한 인터넷이 발전되기까지는 많은 시행착오를 격으면서 발전해온 네트워크 기술과 인 터넷의 개방성이 그 동인이 되었다. 또한 모든 장해요소들을 뿌리친 엔지니어들의 열정 또한 세계 속의 한국의 역할을 강조하면 서 성장해왔고 이제 새로운 역할이 기대되고 있다. 본 강의에서는 세계와 한국인터넷의 역사와 현황을 살펴본다. 또한 인터넷 을 발전시켜온 기술들을 조망하면서 향후 전망을 알아본다.

Title: Group Communication Framework and Enhanced Trasport Protocol
Abstract:
이 강의에서는 최근 국제표준화기구 등에서 새로운 이슈로 부각되면서 활발히 논의되고 있는 멀티미디어 응용을 지원하는 새 로운 통신 프로토콜에 대해 소개한다. 특히, 새로운 통신프로토콜이 지원하여야 할 대표적인 기능인 다자간 통신을 위한 그룹개 념, 그룹주소지정 등을 포함하는 Group Communication Framework과, 이에 근거하여 개발되고 있는 Enhanced Communications Tran sport Service 및 enhanced Communications Transport Protocol을 다루며, ISO/IEC JPC1, ITU-T, IETF 등 국제표준기구에서 이루 어지고 있는 관련 작업현황에 대해 소개한다.

Title: Multicast Routing for Multimedia Applications
Abstract:
Group-based multimedia applications are expected to be the most promising applications for BISDNs. For these applica tions, we need to provide a multicast capability among the group members. For the multicast applications requiring real -time traffic, to meet the maximum delay bound between any pair of group members is important. In a group-based multime dia application requiring a constant high bandwidth virtual to route all the source messages over the same communication link.
Most studies on multicast routings have been based on a single multicast tree approach. With a single multicast tree , satisfying the maximum delay bound or the constant high bandwidth requirement of those applications is nearly impossib le. To fulfill these requirements, we introduce the multiple multicast tree concept whose only disadvantage is the high tree maintenance cost. Since trees, it is necessary to minimize the number of multicast trees. We formulate and propo se algorithms for the DBMT(Delay-Bounded Multicast Tree) and the LBNT(Load-Balanced Multicast Tree) problems whose main objectives are to satisfy an application's maximum delay bound among the group members and to accomplish the traffic loa d balancing, respectively.

Abstract:
92년 처음 발표된 WWW이 보급되면서 인터넷의 의미에 급속한 변화가 있었다. 이전까지 단순히 전문가들 사이에 파일과 메일 을 주고 받던 주된 기능에서부터 일반인에게 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하는 망으로 변신하였다. 이
러한 발전이 가속화되면서 이제 인터넷은 새로운 뉴스 전달매체, 새로운 유통기능, 새로운 사이버공간으로서의 사회 등의 성격 을 띄게 되었다. 어떤 발표에서는 최근 인터넷에 WWW이 확산됨으로써 생긴 이러한 성격의 변화를 여러 각도에서 조명하여보면서 , 앞으로 어떻게 발전할 것인가를 예측하고 이에 대한 우리의 대응을 논의하여 본다.

대규모 멀티미디어 데이터베이스서비스시스템은 월드와이드 웹(WWW: World Wide Web)의 대규모 멀티미디어 정보서비스의 우수 성과 데이터베이스시스템의 방대한 데이터베이스관리기능을 상호보완적으로 통합함으로써 구현할 수 있다. 데이타베이스통로는 이러한 통합을 위한 핵심적인 소프트웨어라 할 수 있다. 데이터베이스통로의 필요성이 인식된 후로 현재 많은 상용 및 연구용 제품이 개발되어 왔다. 데이터베이스통로의 구조는 데이터베이스접속을 WWW에 어떻게 연동시키는가에 따라 다양하게 나누어지고 구조에 따라 성능도 달라지게 된다. 데이터베이스통로의 성능은 대규모 데이터베이스서비스시스템 구축에 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 강의에서는 여러 가지 데이터베이스통로의 구조에 대하여 분류체계를 세우고, 각 구조에 대한 특징을 성능 및 기능 면에서 알아본다. 아울러, 현재까지 개발된 데이터베이스통로를 정리하고 현재 충남대학교 정보통신공학과에서 개발하고 있는 U niWeb을 소개한다.

Combining multimedia and mobile network is no longer a dream. With the rapid progress in wireless transmission techn ology, and the enormous gain achieved in data compression, multimedia applications are now appearing in handheld mobile devices (PDA, notebook computer etc.). However, for easy and practical services to be provided, we need to overcome man y technical challinges: bandwidth, processing power, memory and delay. In the short presentation, I will survey the iss ues and solutions for the mobile multimedia networking.

최근 인터넷을 통한 멀티미디어 통신 서비스에 대한 수요의 증가는 기존 데이타중심의 인터넷의 전달 프로토콜의 변화를 요구 하고 있다.
그중 하나는 인터네트워킹 프로토콜인 IP의 upgrade 로서 차세대 IP로도 불리는 IPv6의 개발과 이를 기존망에 적용하는 것으로 나타나고 있으며 또다른 변화중의 하나로 고속 패킷통신방식인 ATM 기술의 이용을 들 수 있다.
본 세미나에서는 이상의 IPv6, ATM과 관련하여 인터넷의 고속화 기술로서 다음에 대해 고찰해본다.

정보기술과 통신기술을 융합, 적용하여 조직경영에 시간, 공간적 제약을 제거g하고, 지식을 확장함으로 그룹 구성원의 팀워크 와 작업 생산성을 향상, "업무 효율을 증대"하고, "조직 경쟁력을 강화"하는 그룹웨어가 최근 국내에서도 그 활용 범위를 급속히 넓혀가고 있다.
본 발표에서는 Business Reengineering과 맞물려 그 필요성이 강조되고 있는 그룹웨어에 대해, 출현 배경, 제품 현황, 기술 동향, 활용 효과, 활용 사례, 제품 소개 발표와 더불어 제품을 시연하고자 한다.
특히 본 발표에서 시연할 제품은 (주)핸디소프트가 4년여의 기간에 걸쳐 자체 개발하여, '94년 4월 제품 출하 시점에서 KT-Ma rk(국산 신기술인정 마크)를 획득함으로 동종제품으로는 유일하게 국가적 차원에서 기술적 우수성을 인정받았으며, '95년 12월 현재 국내 160여 기관에서 활용 중에 있는 대표적인 국산 그룹웨어이다.
핸디*오피스는 그룹 구성원 간의 폭넓은 정보공유, 원활한 의사소통, 신속한 의사결정, 다자간 원격회의, 총체적인 문서처리, 업무흐름 자동화, 업무흐름 정보의 실시간 정보전략화 등을 통합지원하여 조직경쟁력을 강화하는 inter/intra Workgroup Comput ing Tools이다.
