Personal Clothing List

Upper Body:

  • Inner Layer:
    • 1 to 2 insulating long tops – polypropylene
    • Light weight shirt
  • Insulating Layer:
    • Vest
    • 2 jacket – fleece/ wool*
  • Outer layer:
    • Rain coat

Lower Body:

  • Inner Layer:
    • Shorts/ pants
  • Insulating Layer:
    • 1 pair of fleece sweats
  • Outer Layer:
    • Rain pants (water proof)
    • Rain/ Wind Pants

Head and Hands:

  • 1 warm hat – fleece hat
  • 1 sun hat – bucket hat
  • 1 pair of mittens/ gloves
  • mosquito netting

Feet (socks and shoes):

  • Socks:
    • 2 to 3 pairs of liner socks – thin, to protect from blisters
    • 2 to 3 pairs of hiking socks – wool/ wool blend
  • Shoes:
    • 1 pair of hiking boots – good support and traction
    • 1 pair of camp shoes – no flip flops, must have soft soles
  • Gaiters (optional)

Personal Gear:

  • 1 Pack
  • Water bottle or hydration unit
  • utensils and cup, bowl and spoon
  • camera
  • chapstick, sun block, sunglasses, mosquito repellent
  • Sleeping bag (polarguard to 25 degrees, about 3 pounds)

*Wool doesn’t dry out well, although it stays warm when wet.
