*Age Group Competitive Swimming for Boys

and Girls with Disabilities*

The Cortland Adapted Swim Team
 (CAST)

is a cross disability competitive swim team

that

trains and competes year round. The swim

team is for swimmers with a disability;

CAST teaches individuals with disabilities

how

to be safe in and around water with the

ultimate

goal of each child to compete at the best of

their ability.

CAST supports Swimmers in Local and

Regional Competitions. The swim team’s

affiliations include SUNY Cortland, USA

Swimming and its adapted committee, and

the American Swim Coaches Association.

CAST has a 1:1 coach to athlete ratio, which

allows all athletes to receive individual

coaching in an environment developed for

their overall success both in the pool and

out.

Instructors are SUNY Cortland students with

Adapted Physical Education, Special

Education, or competitive swimming

experience.
