Corremn's Roguelike Games

This page is dedicated to my roguelike games. If you don't know what a roguelike game is read on.  All my games are created using my DemiseRL engine, using OpenGL, SDL and the freetype library.  Roguelikes can take many years to create so please be patient but also be aware that things can be hastened by feedback. Software on this page can be used free of charge.

What is a Roguelike?

Roguelike. To put it simply, a roguelike is a game the resembles the game rogue.  The game is generally a dungeon exploration game where each level is randomly generated and populated each time you play. Generally you take your character, usually represented by a '@' character in ASCII games, down to the bottom of the dungeon, complete some task and ascend to glory. Game play is turn-based and strategic in nature.

7DRL: Many of my games started there life off as a Seven Day Roguelike. This is a roguelike that was developed over the period of 168 hours. The idea is to create a fully working game with in a short period, as many roguelikes take years to be "complete".  Sometimes having liked what I produce I set about expanding the concepts found in these games but the overall game play of the original release was kept.

My Games

I have been developing roguelikes games on and off since 2005. Below are some of my releases.

All my games are written for windows, however my code is based on platform independent libraries so if you want a game for another platform and you have time to compile it, go for it and let me know the results. Any non-windows binaries will be made available for download as soon as possible.

SewerJacks - The blood bowl roguelike

About: Originally this was my entry into the 2007 annual seven-day roguelike contest. However this game has under gone some further development. SewerJacks mechanics are based on Game Workshop's Blood Bowl. Take you failed blood bowl player down into the sewer and take up the only job available to him, a sewer jack. In blood bowl fashion you can team up with fellow computer controlled players to take on some nasties.  Skills and races are based on those available in Blood Bowl. Do you have what it takes to be a sewer jack?
