The Enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Jerusalem
Saturday 5-3-2016 The enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Jerusalem: His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Antonious On Saturday 5-3-2016, His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Antonious arrived at Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem and was met by heads and members of numerous denominations and institutions congratulating him and accompanying him in processions through the streets of the Old City along with scouts, monks, nuns and congregation from the diocese of Jerusalem until the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. His Eminence visited the Tomb of our Lord for the first time, and was led with joyous procession again to St Anthony's Monastery at the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate. There, he, along with the delegation of Metropolitans and Bishops sent by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II prayed the Thanksgiving Prayer, and began the enthronement ceremony. With the attendance of heads of Churches from different denominations, Political figures and officials, His Eminence was enthroned on the seat of Jerusalem as the 22nd Coptic Metropolitan of Jerusalem and the Near East. Arrival of the new metropolitan of Jerusalem to the Holy Land
His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Antonious, along with an official delegation of Bishops and Priests sent by H.H. Pope Tawadros II arrived in Jerusalem around midday today (Friday 4-3-2016), ahead of the Enthronement of His Eminence on the seat of Jerusalem on Saturday 5-3-2016.             |

Delegation of Bishops and priests sent for 40th day memorial service
A delegation of Bishops and priests have begun arriving in Jerusalem ahead of the 40th day memorial prayers for the thrice-departed H.E. Metropolitan Anba Abraham. His Holiness Pope Tawadros II has sent a delegation led by H.G. Bishop Raphael to lead the prayers of the 40th day Memorial on Monday 4/1/2016. Sunday 3-1-2016 A delegation of Bishops and priests led by H.G. Anba Raphael have been sent to Jerusalem to attend the 40th day memorial service of the thrice blessed His Eminence Archbishop Anba Abraham to be held on Monday 4-1-2016.
