Saturday 5-3-2016 The enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Jerusalem: His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Antonious On Saturday 5-3-2016, His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Antonious arrived at Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem and was met by heads and members of numerous denominations and institutions congratulating him and accompanying him in processions through the streets of the Old City along with scouts, monks, nuns and congregation from the diocese of Jerusalem until the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. His Eminence visited the Tomb of our Lord for the first time, and was led with joyous procession again to St Anthony's Monastery at the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate. There, he, along with the delegation of Metropolitans and Bishops sent by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II prayed the Thanksgiving Prayer, and began the enthronement ceremony. With the attendance of heads of Churches from different denominations, Political figures and officials, His Eminence was enthroned on the seat of Jerusalem as the 22nd Coptic Metropolitan of Jerusalem and the Near East. Anba Antonious
 On 22-2-2016, the monk Fr. Theodore El-Antony received the rank of Hegumen in St Anthony's Monastery, in preparation for his further ordinations:   On Sunday 28-2-2016, Rev. Fr. Theodore El-Antony was ordained the rank of Bishop and then Metropolitan of Jerusalem and the Near East (in St Mark's Cathedral in El-Abasseya), and given the name Anba Antonious: May the Lord grant him strength and guidance in his service. *His Eminence will be enthroned on his seat in Jerusalem within one week. _
