Blasting by Raydet Vis-a-Vis Detonating Cord

1.    Blast with Raydiet resulted in 19.25% reduction in digging time, 12 % in loading time and 7.27% in total cycle time of shovel operation.

2.    Number of Boulders reduced by 33% in blasts carried out with Raydet.

3.    Average Fragment size reduced by 31% in blasts with Raydet – (using Digital Image Analysis).

4.    Noise levels reduced by 10% with Raydet.

5.    Fly rock was minimal and at times NIL with Raydet.

6.    Blast with Raydet resulted in compact muck piles, as against more those observed with detonating cord initiated blasts.

7.    Video analysis in indicated better utilization of explosive energy, without loosening of stemming zone, as was the case with detonating cord.  (A non-electric delay detonator)
