Aunt Dora's Sugar Cookies

Prep: 20 minutes 
Refrigerate overnight 
Total time: 1 hr 
Yield: About 1 1/2 dozen large cookies 
Ingredients: 
  • 3/4 c. Salted Butter
  • 2/3 c. Sugar 
  • 1/4 tsp. salt 
  • 2 egg yolks 
  • 1 tbsp 2% milk 
  • 1 tsp vanilla 
  • 2 c. Sifted flour 
1.) Beat sugar, salt, and butter until smooth. Add yolks, milk, and vanilla. Add flour. Stir with wooden smooth spoon. 
2.) Shape into two balls. Flatten against wax paper and wrap. Refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours). 
3.) Roll out dough on floured surface about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters and place on in greased cookie sheet 1/2 inch apart. 
4.) bake 10-14 minutes until edges are just brown. Transfer immediately to cooling rack.
