the museum in nameless is heated by this old wood-burning stove and a wood heater in the main part of the "store". even the soft drinks are stocked in the old lift-top coolers with bottle openers on the front... and the cokes are in old-style 6-ounce bottles with non-twist-off caps. J. T. Watts General Merchandise Store Museum Nameless, Tennessee visiting this place brought back a flood of memories from my youth. i shuffled through some of my old poems and came up with this one. i wrote this one a long time ago, but nameless reminds me of days gone by. I can still remember . . . cold days on a sled-beaten hill kool aid and apple pie coolin on the window sill playin army, dick tracy, or batman and robin watchin mom bake a cake or thread a sewing machine bobbin dammin up the creek, playin in the mud wonderin why a cow eating grass is called chewin cud freeze tag, jump rope, rollin in the clover mother-may-I, simon says, red rover red rover eatin sunday dinner at grandma's house watchin smoky play tag with a little grey mouse ridin my pony, runnin from the rooster yellin big time when I got a chicken pox booster buildin our own wagons, makin our own kites listenin to dad's ghost stories and not sleepin half the night these are the days I remember so well and our children too will have stories to tell!
