Welcome to the Contemporary Fiber Arts website where we archive newsletters and other materials relevant to our guild.  We are hosted by the Corvallis Arts Center in Corvallis, Oregon.  Our members are interested in a wide range of fiber arts:  baskets, art quilts, traditional quilts, beading, weaving, fiber dyeing, garments and accessories, dollmaking, knitting, crocheting and surface design and embellishment.

Monthly meetings are held at the Corvallis Arts Center located at 700 SW Madison Avenue in Corvallis, Oregon.  Meetings begin at 6:30 pm on the first Tuesday of each month.  Meetings typically consist of
  • Announcements:  shows to enter, shows to see, workshops etc.
  • Show & tell:  members are encouraged to bring pieces they have created to share with the group
  • The headline event:  a featured speaker(s) or hands-on activity
Annual membership is $20, due in February.  Junior membership dues are $10.

Please join us and share our enthusiasm for fiber arts!

 Month Featured Program
JanuaryNancy Bryant, filling in for our scheduled guest speaker, shared segments of her Paintstiks DVD, "Inspirations", by Laura Murray. The segments shown included the use of Paintstiks (oil paint in stick form) with stencils, rubbing plates, and multicolored metallic foils for extra bling. One of Nancy's art quilts was featured in Shelly Stokes' new book "Rubbing Plate Roundup:  Create Textured Treasures from Fabric, Paper, Clay, Metal and Paint".
