2012 Program

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is where you meet regularly, one-on-one, with a trained Spiritual Director to talk about your personal relationship and journey with your God. Spiritual Direction deals with your ‘soul work’.

Spiritual Direction helps you explore and name how God is acting in your life and where God is lovingly drawing you. Usually appointments are monthly and for approximately an hour. Difficult and complex life issues may be explored in Spiritual Direction, however these are always done so within the context of your relationship with God.

The experience of Spiritual Direction has been part of the Christian community at least since the Desert Monastics of the 4th Century.

Committing to regular Spiritual Direction is a wonderful way to go deeper with your relationship with God. The Spiritual Director is not there to teach or to pray with you or to talk about his or her own journey with God. Their role is to open up a safe, confidential space in which you can explore your own relationship with God. The role of the Spiritual Director is to be completely non-judgemental and genuinely interested in you as a person, warts and all!

Spiritual Direction is offered through our Centre in Willunga or via Skype for those whom a personal visit or distance is not possible.

Bookings are essential.

The cost for Spiritual Direction is by donation. The Ecumenical Spiritual Directors (SA) recommend $50 per visit. We ask you to make a contribution in line with your means.

Foundation Course

Jesus: His choices and path to freedom

This single teaching day is being offered four times in 2012. The day will take you into the very heart and mind of Jesus of Nazareth and his spiritual journey. The years between the age of 30 and 33 for Jesus were marked by profound discernment.

This life of discernment saw him go to his cross in complete freedom.  At the end of the day's program Jesus will emerge for you as an even more lovable and more attractive person to follow. Through this teaching day we will come to see how profoundly relevant Jesus is to the issues facing humanity in the early 21st century.

The foundational teaching days are being offered a number of times during 2012, including weekdays and on weekends. Each day begins at 10am and concludes at 5pm.

Each day includes input, group work and times for personal reflection.

The program will be held on the following days:
Tuesday 17 April
Saturday 5 May
Friday 3 August
Saturday 6 October

The venue is: Navan House, Aldinga
