Monday, January 22, 7 PM - David Garrard Lecture

From Scott Wells:

We hosted David Garrard who lectured in Houston and I will say that he is easily among the top five lecturers I have enjoyed and learned from over the past 15 years. His lecture is complete, entertaining, fun, thorough and includes lots of magic for stand-up performers but also a few close-up tricks plus some children’s magic and performing tips. It was a wonderful lecture and I have inserted two of his items in my regular repertoire. His hard back lecture notes are incredible and recommended with testimonials from his hometown friends, Lance Burton and Mac King.

If you are not familiar with David Garrard, perhaps you might remember having seen him perform on Penn & Teller Fool Us television show. Or perhaps you might be familiar with Lance Burton. They grew up together in Louisville, KY as fast friends and I dare say that it could just as easily been David’s name that took the world spotlight rather than Lance had they chosen the other’s course. I know you will be satisfied and impressed with his lecture. His lecture book is a wonder to behold. More than a set of typical lecture notes, his 250 page paperback book is phenomenal and includes lots of photographs and detailed explanations on some of his signature effects.

David Garrard has been entertaining and inspiring audiences with magic for more than 50 years! He has appeared extensively throughout the United States and was recently featured on Penn & Teller: Fool Us! David’s new book, Out of My Hat has gotten rave reviews from the Linking Ring, M.U.M. and Stevens Magic. David is the creator of the popular trick, Sketch-O-Magic.
