Conant Band Parents Club Officer Nominations

On behalf of the Conant Band Parents Club Nominating Committee, we would like to enlist your help

Selecting Conant Band Parents Club Officer Nominees for the 2014–2015 school year.

 

 Conant Band Parents Club  Nominations For 2014–2015 School Year 

One of the most important duties of the membership is the election of officers. Officers should be chosen for their abilities and willingness to serve. Members who are elected to serve should be familiar with the Conant Band Parents Club and the qualifications for each office.


The Nominating Committee will present a slate of officers to elect for the 2014–15 school year at the May 5 Conant Band Parents Club Meeting. We need to fill the position of secretary, although all positions are up for re-election.  


Below is a brief description of duties:


President – Presides at all Conant Band Parents Club meetings; see all orders and resolutions are carried out; actively  manage the business of the club; serve as a member on all committees as needed; only vote in case of a tie.


Vice President – Serve as an aide to or perform the duties of the President in the event that the President is absent or unable to perform his/her duties; will assume special assignments as directed by the President; responsible for maintaining the bylaws.


Treasurer – Maintains all Conant Band Parents Club financial records and reports; processes bank deposits, checks, monthly reports, budgets and tax filingfile end of fiscal year budget report; annually present the books for audit.


Secretary – Records and maintains minutes of all meetings; will handle all correspondence for the club; will chair audit committee.

Band Group Photo Order Form

One of our Conant Band Parent Club Parents, Reggie Lithgow,  has generously donated her time and talent to create a beautiful 10 X 7 color photo of the 2012-2013 Conant Marching Band  

 An order form for your copy of the photo is attached.   The cost is only $5 and you can use your student band account to pay for the photo!

Parents Club meeting cancelled on Jan 6

All classes, athletic competitions, practices and activity events scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2014 have been cancelled.


The Conant Band Parents Club meeting scheduled for January 6 will be rescheduled for the following Monday, January 13.


Hope to see you on January 13 at 7 pm in the Band Room!


Uniform Fittings August 10, 2013

 Dear Band Student and Parents:

 

Uniform fittings will be held on Saturday August 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

 

Schedule is as follows:

 

Seniors: Last Name Starting A-L: 9 a.m.  Last Name Starting M-Z: 9:30 a.m. 

Juniors:  Last Name Starting A-L: 10 a.m.- Last Name Starting M-Z 10:30 a.m.

Sophomores: Last Name Starting A-L: 11:00 a.m.- Last Name Starting M-Z 11:30 a.m.

Freshmen:  Last Name Starting A-F: 12:00 p.m.-Last Name Starting G-K: 12:45 p.m.

                   Last Name Starting: L-P:1:30 p.m.  Last Name Starting Q-Z:  2:15 p.m.

 

Freshmen fittings can take up to an hour. Parents be prepared to wait or drop your student and come back for them.  It is a great time to volunteer and make some new friends! Watch for an email in early August for volunteer scheduling.

 

If you cannot attend at your time slot, please come at another time during the day but be aware you will be first come first served and wait time may be longer.  Plan accordingly!

 

Make up fittings will be held on Saturday August 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Anyone not fitted on August 10 will be required to attend on August 17.

 

For those families new to the Conant Band, please review the uniform information form located on the Conant Band website for proper care of the marching band uniform.

DVD and Band Photo Order Forms Now Available

One of our Conant Band Parent Club Parents, Reggie Lithgow, has been busy following the Conant Band around all year, video camera in hand.  She has generously donated her time and talent to create a one of a kind video yearbook containing highlights of the 2010-2011 Conant Band.  If you would like to order a copy of the DVD which will be delivered to your home this summer, complete the attached order form and return it to Mr. Moorhouse with cash or a check made out to Conant Band Parents Club.  You may also use funds in your student account to pay for the DVD.  The cost is $10.  Reggie provided a sneak preview of the DVD at the April meeting and it's terrific!  There will be footage from football game performances, concerts, and behind the scenes action.  What a great keepsake-order yours today!
 
Reggie has also produced a 10 X 7 color photo of the 2010-2011 Conant Marching Band taken in the gym after the Fall marching band concert.  An order form for your copy of the photo is also attached.  Submit your order as soon as possible and you will be able to pick it up at the May concerts.  The cost is $5.
