Handicapped Duel Match 2016
Hello Chess Friends )
I am pleased to announce,
-I organized a new handicapped duel match: Crafty vs Stockfish
Note: About two years ago, I ran similar duel match, for details
Just I'd like to point out,
Both engines are played with different time controls
1st Duel (11 games):
Crafty 25.01 JA x64's TC: 60 Minutes
Stockfish 240416 x64's TC: 3 Minutes
2nd Duel (12 games):
Crafty 25.01 JA x64's TC: 120 Min + 10 Sec
Stockfish 240416 x64's TC: 3 Min + 2 Sec
3rd Duel (10 games):
Crafty 25.01 JA x64's TC: 240 Min + 10 Sec
Stockfish 240416 x64's TC: 3 Min + 2 Sec
Tournament Conditions:
Intel Core i7 970 3.20 GHz
ShredderClassic / Arena 3.5.1 GUIs
Auto 232 Mode
Ponder OFF
1 Core
SF: 128 MB Hash
Crafty: 1024 MB Hash
Tablebases OFF
Perfect 2016 Book
Note that for a better engine performance,
Crafty is played as WB only under Arena GUI
According to CCRL (40/40):
Stockfish 7 64-bit 4CPU : 3337 Elo
Crafty 25.0 64-bit 4CPU: 2960 Elo
*Elo Difference: 377 Elo
According to available data:
Crafty v25.01 JA x64's strength should be close to Super GMs of +2800 Elo
And I would not much surprised if Crafty is not stronger than almost all GMs !)
Why Stockfish (not another engine), because SF is SCCT CS II Blitz Champion
In short,
The purpose of the current handicapped match was simply to see what slow time control is needed,
where Top GMs or engines with close strength to Crafty will be stronger than Stockfish in Blitz ?!
And as we see..the answer of my question is still not clear.... but it's definitely true that:
- GMs or close strength/weaker engines than Crafty needs much more time to defeat SF in Blitz !!
Best Regards,
Sedat
