Typical Microsoft Irony
Typical Microsoft Irony
Coincidence? I think not. Microsoft installed several updates for me, after which I was unable to workin Windows XP. Shortly after logging in, the computer would cluescreen with one of two Stop messages: "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and "INVALID_WORK_QUEUE_ITEM". Safe Mode occasionally worked, as booting into XP and crashing had a negative effect on my filesystem. Internet research and hours of troubleshooting led me to update my (Intel 4965) wireless driver. But this beauty of a screen greeted me when I managed a stable boot into Windows. I wonder if the two messages might be related? Hmm... (Yes, I know driver problems are the cause of most windows errors. However, it wasn't an issue until XP installed updates and forcibly rebooted my computer.) Now to fix my other three operating systems.

Here are the unboxing pics, as well as some action shots, of the sexy Belkin N1 Vision wireless router. I got the Belkin N1 Vision as a replacement for my boring (though fairly dependable) ZyXEL MIMO router. In all, it looks good, but the WEP security setting is incompatible with my MacBook Pro and unstable with some Windows XP laptops in the home. Switching it to WPA1 (not WPA2) makes is more compatible. It feels good to be able to see what's going on through the network. Finally seeing the invisible!
