  • (headphone) earphone: electro-acoustic transducer for converting electric signals into sounds; it is held over or inserted into the ear; "it was not the typing but the earphones that she disliked"
  • Headphones is the self-titled debut album by Headphones. The album features David Bazan on keyboards, and Frank Lenz (of Starflyer 59) on drums. Tim Walsh (formerly of Pedro the Lion) also contributed to the recording, albeit sparsely, as Bazan attested in November 2006: . . .

Candice Breitz: King
Candice Breitz solicited german michael jackson super-fans to sing-along to the entire Thriller album while listening to it on wireless headphones. The performances were then installed on 16 separate HD monitors, creating an ear-bending chorus of Pop Icon worship. Paired with "Queen", a 24-screen installation of more talented and flamboyant Italian Madonna fans singing along to the Immaculate Collection, the two works are exhibited in 2005 at the Sonnabend Gallery. Reviews are skeptical and somewhat suspicious of how produced and polished the final pieces come across. Meanwhile during the run of the show the gallery is filled to capacity with patrons who laugh, clap, dance, sing along, photograph, and generally can't get enough of the spectacle.

Affirmation #131 - January 20th, 2011 GREETINGS FROM THE 'EFFING FUTURE BIZNATCHES! I got these babies at the WALMIZZLE and they're totally rad. I was a little scurred 'cause they had terrible reviews on amazon but all the good ones were $200 clams and momma ain't made of money. But much to my shock they work fine, especially when I am less than ten feet away from the base station. I love the ridiculous retro look as well, which is in keeping with the old/new stuff I think about basically constantly and further keeps me in a constant loop of 80s nostalgia.
