Computer Applications, Inc. has been providing following services nationally and internationally since its incorporation in 1993:
  • Consulting services for the design, planning, and operation of water resources projects;
  • Development, modification, application, sale, and leasing of computer software for the simulation of hydraulic transients (water hammer, surges) in pipes, pumping systems, hydropower plants, cooling water systems, and unsteady flows (surges, floods, etc.) in rivers, streams, channels, drainage systems, sewers, etc.; 
  • Investigation of the failure of piping systems, levees, and hydraulic structures of  water resource projects;
  • Expert witness for legal action related to water resource projects;
  • Organization and instruction of short courses and workshops.  

About the Management

Dr. M. Hanif Chaudhry, President, has over 40 years experience as a consultant, researcher, design engineer, and faculty member and has published 5 books, over 130 archival publications and authored over 50 technical reports.  He developed the CAI computer software WH (utilized worldwide in all six continents), CHAN, and SUR. He has acted as specialist consultant to  U.S. Agency for International Development, United Nations Development Program; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; California Department of Water Resources; New Brunswick Power Commission, Canada; Inter-American development Bank/Instituto Ecuatoriano de Electrification, Ecuador; Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, Costa Rica; Institute for Computer Applications, NASA; various national and international public utilities, consulting engineering and law firms.
