"Chinese" Braised Cabbage

"Chinese" Braised Cabbage 


olive oil

1/2 onion--chopped

1/2 green pepper--chopped

2 cloves garlic--minced

1 head green cabbage--shredded

2 tablespoons vegetable broth

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce

2 teaspoons Tamari (or soy sauce)

1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon ginger powder


*Prep veggies. Heat ~2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat in a large stock pot. Add onion and green pepper. Saute for 5-7 minutes. Add garlic. Saute until soft. 

*Whisk all remaining ingredients except cabbage. 

*Add cabbage and braising liquid to the pot. Cover. Steam 20-25 minutes, or until cabbage has desired tenderness, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning. Enjoy!
