Empowering People...Engaging Community

Community That Works builds relationships of caring that cross the lines of difference that usually separate people, like socioeconomic status, ability, education, and race.

In order that we all have enough friends, money, and meaning in our lives, we share our gifts as a community and we honor all needs in the spirit of friendship and compassion.

Located in Ames, Iowa, we meet with a free meal at 5:30 p.m. each Tuesday, in the Fellowship Hall at First  United Methodist Church, 516 Kellogg  Ave in Ames, Iowa. At 6:30 p.m. we move to Room 102 for a community meeting where we deepen our friendships, share what’s new and good in our lives, and exchange our wants, needs and offers. We encourage children and teens to be a part of the community, and we provide child care for the little ones. We finish promptly at 8 p.m.
