Gardening Magic Series - 4 sessions

posted Apr 23, 2018, 12:05 PM by CNC CNC

In anticipation of the arrival of Spring, there are many fun and clever

activities one can do with children that will spark and hold their interest for

gardening while they patiently await the growing “magic” to happen.

Join Dawn Marvin Ward for stories, songs, and crafts designed to

delight children and adults while Spring arrives.

Thursdays, 10:30-11:30 am at the

Erving Senior/Community Center

1 Care Drive, Erving

May 10: Seed Scenes

Seeds are special little ‘packages’ that really add the ‘magic’ to gardening! Seeds

come in ALL sizes, shapes, and colors. Use their beauty to design/create your own

seed scene.

May 17: The World Beneath Our Feet

Explore up close, some of the valuable ‘creatures ‘ of the soil and meet the Root

Children. Then create your own “Root Child”.

May 24: Tops & Bottoms

Plant anatomy can be fun! Come see how Mr. Rabbit teaches lazy Mr. Bear a

lesson in the value of ‘tops and bottoms’ of plants. Then plant some “tops and

bottoms” to take home and to leave for the senior center!

May 31: Garden Friends

Some insects are welcomed and helpful in the garden. Come hunt for ladybugs,

butterflies, and more!

Pre-Registration requested.

Please contact Gillian Budine, Community Network for

Children Program Coordinator at (978) 544-5157 or
