CommBAT, a Community Behaviour Analytics Tool, supports community leaders, developers or researchers to gain insight of behaviour of an online community.

CommBAT is a Windows desktop application, which presents statistics of Dicode collaborative workspace log data in a visual form. It allows users to dynamically explore the factors related to community behaviour: users, activities, objects and semantic types.

CommBAT combines three features:

- Dynamic Filtering - it allows users to dynamically explore activities of a collaborative workspace via filtering the factors related to community behaviour.
- Visual Presentation - it presents the dynamic filtering results in different types of charts: pie, column, bar, bubble etc.
- Multi-perspective views - it provides multiple views for users to look into knowledge items (ideas, comment, notes and services): object type view, user activity view and object timeline view.

The combination of these three features provides a flexible way for users to develop insights into

  • how the community members use a collaborative workspace and
  • how they work together in terms of their activities, interactions and knowledge items.
