About the Project

This project aimed to develop the skills of school professional learning communities in their use of tools that support effective data use. We know that this approach drives decision making processes that  contribute towards improvement in educational outcomes.

To achieve such results in our project, we used what we have learnt from best international practices to support proven approaches in the use of school data. We worked to support schools in evaluating how they use data in relation to others and created benchmarks that can be used by schools to make reflective judgments of their own practice.

To make this a reality, we supported the development of school based professional learning communities that worked together to incorporate the theory into their own practice. This approach improved the schools' knowledge which was applied to identifying specific support or intervention needs. We believe that this approach will encourage involvement from a range of stakeholders working with an agreed focus that will subsequently improve outcomes for students.
