Our goal at the Colts Wrestling Club is to introduce future "athletes" (grades 2nd -8th) to the sport of wrestling, keeping costs to the families as low as possible and for the kids to have fun. During the season, our wrestlers are introduced to the basic skills of wrestling, discipline and sportsmanship.

Fees:  A one time( non-refundable) $30.00 fee for the entire season (you can earn your fees back by selling $30.00 worth of car wash tickets).
*** The first four practices are free for new wrestlers (to be sure your child will like the sport of wrestling before they begin to pay for fees and equipment
).

Practices
Practices for all Colt wrestlers are 6 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday nights ( for new wrestlers be sure to bring insurance # and fill out proper forms for the wrestler).

Green Valley Wrestling Club practices will be 4 - 5:30 p.m. Mon-Fri. at Green Valley Middle School. (All parents be sure to be at the middle school at 5:30 to pick up your kids)

Practices are held at the Rodriguez High wrestling room.

  Practice attire:
t-shirt and no pocket "GYM" shorts. (no clothing that has buttons, zippers or side cargo pockets are allowed. No Exceptions) It's a good idea to keep a set of extra practice attire in your vehicle. If the wrestlers are not dressed properly they will not practice.

Attendance:  We expect to see your wrestler at the very least once a week (with the exception of family vacations of course). Anything less than that and practice will be futile.

Things for the athletes to remember while at practice:

1. Always keep safety in  mind.
2. Cover all wounds, rashes and scratches with sports tape BEFORE practice.
3. Keep fingernails cut short.
4. No talking while a coach is instructing.
5. No horse playing during practice.
6. Be respectful to each other (especially adults) at all times.
7. Wrestle hard and Have Fun.
8. Everyone helps roll up mats before going home.

Things to remember while away from practice:

1. If you wear a Colts shirt, always represent the Colts in a positive manner.
2. Do your homework.
3. Shower after every practice.

Suggestions for the parents:

Take all injury comments from your athletes serious
Do not FORCE your athlete to wrestle (it will avoid "burn out" later).
Attend practices with your athletes (but remember; no talking while a coach is instructing and to keep conversations and phone calls to a whisper during practice)
Keep a extra set of practice attire in your vehicles.

Disciplinary stages:

A wrestler will be asked to sit on the side of the mat as the 1st behavior problem.
If the wrestler continues to have a behavior problem, the parents will be contacted by e-mail.
If a wrestler has a continuous behavior problem"As a last resort" the wrestler will be told to no longer attend The Colts Wrestling Club.
