NCS "Natural Color System" is a logically structured color system of order.
It is based on the way how the human-being perceives color. By the help of NCS all surface colors can be described and can be provided with a NCS-label. Each NCS- product contains 1950 NCS-standardized color tones.
The picture shows the NCS color space with every cut through the area. The cuts conform to the sides of the NCS atlas and the NCS album.
NCS emerged in the year 1978. Since then it has become on of the most
frequently used color determination systems in the world. Today it is
used in every industry where one has to communicate with colors. In
Norway, Sweden and Spain NCS is already national standard.
The
production of highly saturated colors and lacquers is limited to the
toxicity of pigments and chemical ingredients. In our product
description you can find a 3 dimensional description of the NCS color
system in a lab-color room. Here you can see in which direction the NCS
color system expands the most resp. which colors can be produced in a
more saturated manner and where the availability is limited.
