Munsell Color Cards

Munsell

The MUNSELL color system from the USA offers a correct specification of colors in industry, design, architecture, art, production, research and all the other areas that need a correct color communication.

The MUNSELL color system offers specialized color cards for many areas like geology, electronic industry, food industry and archaeology.

Prof. Albert Henry Munsell, dedicated his whole life to colors. He established a brilliant color structure in 1915. On the axis the neutral colors from black (down) and white (up) are positioned. Around the axis there are different color tones, hues which are structured according to a rising color intensity from axle to axle.
By this way the color science developed an analytical system that describes the color area und provides the basis for colorimetry nowadays.
