Colorado SAVES Student Sustainability Summit
September 28-29, 2012
Ponderosa High School
7007 E. Bayou Gulch Road
Parker, CO 80134

We are excited to announce the first Colorado SAVES Student Sustainability Summit! Colorado SAVES (Students as Voices for Environmental Sustainability) aims to bring high school students from across the state together to educate, share, and inspire environmental stewardship. The summit will take place on September 28-29, 2012 at Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colorado.

The Colorado SAVES Summit is the creation of students in the PeaceJam Club at Ponderosa High School. The students recognized a need for a state-wide conference that would allow youth the opportunity to come together to strategize, share ideas, and create action plans addressing sustainability. Students across Colorado are engaging in nationally-leading environmental projects, and we hope that other students will benefit from direct student-to-student collaboration. The summit will feature a student-created and student-driven agenda including interactive workshops, hands-on learning opportunities, and skills learning sessions. We aim to attract over 500 participants representing a wide range of districts in Colorado. Additionally, we are working to provide students and their adult sponsors the opportunity to spend Friday night at Ponderosa High School - providing an economical housing option for those traveling from more distant areas of the state.
